"Word of Mouth travels like Kudzu in Augusta.
I was thinking about referring this particular agent to my realtor colleague’s and for my properties within the CSRA. But after hearing what they did from some of the local realtors to several first time home buyers in our area I WAS ALARMED!!
Policies were approved at home purchase with evidence from third parties of insurability on the homes, foundations, and structure.
Happy first time homebuyers achieving the American dream, right??
Imagine if you would coming home, checking your mail seeing a State Farm envelope in your mailbox thinking it is a welcome to “The State Farm Family”, where we treat you like family as they advertise only to receive a check in their mailbox, no notice, no call, no communication, but a check refunding them their initial payment/ premiums paid in advance and the first home payment is not even due yet. The kicker is that a representative actually called after the fact and said we meant to call you, but the check got to you before we could speak with you and this was a recorded voicemail, how humiliating!
So picture this a newly married couple, first time homebuyers should be happy, but are now faced with no homeowners insurance, just a cancellation on their new home. For other agencies to have access to which normally means no homeowners insurance until you fix the issue. State Farm’s reason the roof needs to be replaced!! WOW 🤯
Why would you not allow the homeowner the opportunity to correct the issue instead of just sending a check in the mail with NO COMMUNICATION. Very unprofessional.
We all know with Helene what that expense costs. So here you have the newlyweds, first time homebuyers, depleting their savings for the down payment that should be starting their new life together and starting a family faced with an expense of at least $10,000.00 give or take.
This is bad business on State Farm’s behalf. You should be ashamed!!
To all who read this story, ask yourself what if this was done to you, your parents or better yet your children."
